  2. Does 5th edition have the equivalent of Taking 20?

    rpg.stackexchange.com/questions/47850

10 yes (sort of), 20 no. Taking 20 was not a thing in 4th edition, and is similarly absent from 5th. Taking 10 however is sort of a thing in 5th, but it's not implemented the way you might think it should be. Basically, the way "taking 10" works in 5e is that every ability (And by extension, skill), has a "passive" score (Basic Rules v2 page 59 ...

Taking 10: When your character is not in immediate danger or distracted, you may choose to take 10. Instead of rolling 1d20 for the skill check, calculate your result as if you had rolled a 10. For many routine tasks, taking 10 makes them automatically successful. Distractions or threats (such as combat) make it impossible for a character to ...

Yes, you can take 10 on that check under normal conditions. As opposed to taking 20, because in that case there is the additional requirements that the performed check must bear non consequence on a failed test. On the specific topic of creating a magic item, failing the check by 5 or more results in a cursed item. Share.

    rpg.stackexchange.com/questions/37109

    10. Nowhere in the Pathfinder Core Rulebook does it say that you can't take 10 on a knowledge check. By RAW, one can take 10 on any roll (except Use Magic Device), provided they are not under stress, in combat, in immediate danger, etc. - unless you have the explicit ability to do so. The wording is, admittedly, a bit unclear for Lore Master ...

  8. Can Skill Mastery let you take 10 with Use Magic Device?

    rpg.stackexchange.com/questions/79123/can-skill-mastery-let-you-take-10-with...

Many of the Pathfinder arguments for and against being able to take 10 with a mastered Use Magic Device skill mirror those of D&D 3.5: danger and distractions prevent taking 10, skill mastery remains largely unchanged, the skill Use Magic Device still says a creature can't take 10 with it, and so on.

  9. Can you take 10 on Aid Another? - Role-playing Games Stack...

    rpg.stackexchange.com/questions/24910/can-you-take-10-on-aid-another

Nothing in that list forbids you from taking 10 when you aid another. It does, however, ban taking 10 in most of the situations in which you would actually want to use the aid another action, skill challenges in particular. Technically, you can use aid another to provide an ally a bonus on an attack roll. This is almost always a bad idea.

  10. Basically, there's too many variables to take into consideration to give a real definitive, "Yes, this is worth the swap," because in some situations it's demonstrably untrue (fighting an AC 23 creature), and in other situations you should be using the +10 damage (fighting creatures with much lesser AC.)

  11. take radiant damage equal to half your level (rounded up). In addition, once on each of your turns, you can deal extra radiant damage to one target when you deal damage to it with an attack or a spell. The extra radiant damage equals your level. So let's say a level 10 Scourge Aasimar activates this ability.
