She was Carnival Cruises Line's first newly built ship, initially operating mainly in the Mexican Riviera and the Caribbean.
MS Enchanted Capri is a wrecked Belorussiya -class cruise ship owned by Demar Instaladora y Constructora, Mexico and operated as an accommodation vessel for oil rigs in the Gulf of Mexico. She was built in 1975 at Wärtsilä Turku Shipyard in Turku, Finland as the 15,409 GRT MS Azerbaydzhan for the Soviet Union -based Black Sea Shipping Company.
Carnival Sunrise (formerly Carnival Triumph) is a Destiny-class cruise ship operated by Carnival Cruise Line.As she and her three younger sisters (Carnival Radiance, Costa Fortuna, and Costa Magica) are each a redesigned version of the lead ship in the class, she is sometimes referred to as the first of the Triumph class of cruise ships.
It was the first Carnival ship to have ever made this voyage. From Long Beach, she sailed year-round cruises to Mexico. In March 2009, Carnival Splendor was the host ship for Mayercraft Carrier 2, a four-day cruise from 27 to 31 March, from Los Angeles to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico hosted by musician John Mayer and featuring music and comedy shows.
Originally a liner, the Borinquen (1931), renamed Puerto Rico in 1949, Arosa Star in 1954, Bahama Star in 1959, La Jenelle in 1969, grounded 13 April 1970 in California. Scrapped. Originally a liner, the Félix Roussel (1929), renamed Arosa Sun in 1955. Sold in 1960 and used as a hotel ship. Scrapped in 1974.
Cruise ship crew. On 22 March 2011, English Disney Wonder crew member Rebecca Coriam (born 11 March 1987) disappeared from the ship while it was at port off the Pacific coast of Mexico. She was captured by CCTV in the crew lounge earlier that morning, having a phone conversation with a woman that appeared to be causing her emotional stress.
