History Early events. The first historical reference to the type of events held at Highland games in Scotland was made during the time of King Malcolm III (Scottish Gaelic: Máel Coluim, c. 1031 – 13 November 1093) when he summoned men to race up Craig Choinnich overlooking Braemar with the aim of finding the fastest runner in Scotland to be his royal messenger.
St. Paul, originally known as St-Paul-de-Métis or St-Paul-des-Métis, is a town in East-Northern Alberta, Canada that is surrounded by the County of St. Paul No. 19. It was known as St. Paul de(s) Métis between 1912 and 1936. The community of St-Paul-de-Métis has historical significance related to the Métis people in the region.
In the 2016 Census of Population conducted by Statistics Canada, the County of St. Paul No. 19 had a population of 6,036 living in 2,334 of its 3,562 total private dwellings, a 3.6% change from its 2011 population of 5,826.
