The seven gifts of the Holy Spirit are an enumeration of seven spiritual gifts first found in the book of Isaiah, [1] and much commented upon by patristic authors. [2] They are: wisdom, understanding, counsel, fortitude, knowledge, piety, and fear of the Lord.
A spiritual gift or charism (plural: charisms or charismata; in Greek singular: χάρισμα charisma, plural: χαρίσματα charismata) is an extraordinary power given by the Holy Spirit. [2] [3] These are believed by followers to be supernatural graces that individual Christians need to fulfill the mission of the Church.
This gift does not, however, make one a miracle worker, since it is God who performs the miracle.
