Moxifloxacin is an antibiotic, used to treat bacterial infections, [ 4 ] including pneumonia, conjunctivitis, endocarditis, tuberculosis, and sinusitis. [ 4 ][ 5 ] It can be given by mouth, by injection into a vein, and as an eye drop. [ 5 ] Common side effects include diarrhea, dizziness, and headache. [ 4 ]
Marbofloxacin is a carboxylic acid derivative third generation fluoroquinolone antibiotic. It is used in veterinary medicine under the brand names Marbocyl, Forcyl, Marbo vet and Zeniquin. A formulation of marbofloxacin combined with clotrimazole and dexamethasone is available under the name Aurizon (CAS number 115550-35-1).
Side effects in adults. Common adverse drug reactions (≥ 1% of people) associated with use of the penicillins include diarrhea, hypersensitivity, nausea, rash, neurotoxicity, urticaria (hives), and superinfection (including candidiasis). Gatifloxacin (brand names Gatiflo, Tequin, and Zymar) is an antibiotic of the fourth-generation fluoroquinolone family, [1] that like other members of that family, inhibits the bacterial enzymes DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV. It was patented in 1986 and approved for medical use in 1999. [2]
