A data field that Dashlane checks within that entry would obviate that work and further manage passwords. Optimally, having Dashlane figuring it out 100% would be excellent; I must agree with u/tramplemestilsken and others that parsing websites' unstructured human-readable data either continuously or on the fly is a feature maintenance nightmare.
After changing the password I noticed that the password was coming up in the password safety section of dashlane as a duplicate! Turns out the brand new password was the same as an previously generated password (months prior), except the last 2 characters, because the new password was 2 characters longer. (The rest is identical)
Dashlane should successfully save the new password that was generated once you click the "save password" option. In some cases, this does not work as expected. In those cases, note that you can find all passwords that were generated by Dashlane from your Password History. To access it, on Desktop, go to "Tools > Password History".
Easy to remember password generator. Feature Request. A feature 1pass has that I think would be good in Dashlane is the option to generate passwords that are easier to remember. These are usually generated by stringing words together.
In the generator tool there is a check boxes for symbols ambiguous characters letters caps numbers and the ability to change it from wacko garbage to something else that is related to being able to say what he password is. It isn’t available on mobile. Mobile just allows you to add symbols letters and numbers. 1. Reply.
Passphrases are not better than complex passwords of the same length. The only reason passphrases are recommended is because they're meaningful in some way (even if they are arbitrary) so that the person coming up with one can remember it. Getting your password manager to generate one defeats the purpose. 3. Dashlane_Support.

Is Dashlane philosophically opposed to making it easy to access the Password Generator manually? Ever since I started using Dashlane a few years ago, this has been a glaring omission. It is never easy to reach the Password Generator from a password entry. The desktop app has a menu link to it, but it was never accessible from a password entry.
Dashlane has a password generator i the Window's app but no way to access it when setting up a new log-in ...
most if not all password managers have password generators. protonmail is an email service so you won't see that feature here most likely. that being said, i too recommend bitwarden. dashlane is closed source and their vpn service uses a proprietary protocol and is owned by a company known to harvest and sell user data.
